Dalton Schultz started his professional football career as a tight end for the Dallas Cowboys after being selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL draft. Schultz earned his starting position with the Cowboys in 2020 following Blake Jarwin's ACL injury. Before entering the NFL, Schultz was recognized for his collegiate performance at Stanford, where he was named First-team All-Pac-12 in 2017.
In the 2021 NFL season, Schultz reached new personal milestones, recording career highs with 78 receptions, 808 receiving yards, and 8 touchdowns. His skills and performance significantly contributed to the success of rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, who subsequently won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award. In 2022, Schultz moved to the Houston Texans, where he continued to excel by setting a franchise record as the second tight end to record at least 8 catches and 100 receiving yards in a single game.
On March 24, 2023, Schultz signed a one-year contract with the Houston Texans, and a year later, he secured a three-year contract extension with the team. His NFL career showcase his consistent performance with 323 receptions, 3,289 receiving yards, and 24 touchdowns over multiple seasons.
