Dan Porter is an influential entrepreneur and the founder of Overtime, a sports media company that has revolutionized how young audiences engage with sports content.

Porter's entrepreneurial journey began with the co-founding of Teach for America, an organization dedicated to addressing educational inequality by enlisting high-achieving college graduates to teach in low-income communities. His passion for education and innovation continued as he transitioned into the tech industry, where he played a pivotal role at companies like TicketWeb, BMG Music Service and UrbanDaddy, helping to drive their growth and success.

Prior to Overtime, Porter was the former Head of Digital at William Morris Endeavor and former CEO of OMGPOP, where he oversaw the design and release of three #1 apps on the iPhone and in 2012, led the sale of OMGPOP to Zynga. Prior to that, he was the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Virgin Group in North America where he invested in and started new Virgin Companies.

In 2016, Porter launched Overtime, aiming to create a media company tailored to the digital consumption habits of Generation Z. Overtime produces and distributes short-form sports content across social media platforms, focusing on high school and amateur athletes. This unique approach quickly garnered a massive following, with millions of young sports enthusiasts engaging with Overtime’s dynamic and interactive content. Under Porter’s leadership, Overtime has expanded its offerings, including the launch of Overtime Elite (OTE), a transformative basketball league providing top high school players with an alternative path to professional sports.

Porter attended Princeton University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in history. He also has an MA in Latin American studies from New York University.
