Dania Ramirez

Dania Ramrez is a film and television actress from the Dominican Republic. Dania currently stars in Netflix drama Sweet Tooth, based on the beloved DC Comics series about a postapocalyptic world where some creatures are human/animal hybrids. Netflix reported that 60 million accounts watched season 1 in the first four weeks after release.

Her other roles have been in the shows "Heros," "Entourage," "Devious Maids," "Once Upon A Time," "Tell Me A Story" and "The Sopranos," which garnered her a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Dania made her feature film debut in Subway Stories for HBO, where she met filmmaker Spike Lee who would later cast her in She Hate Me and 25th Hour. She played older sister ‘Laurie’ in Fat Albert, ‘Callisto’ in X-Men: The Last Stand, and ‘Angel’ in THE 5th Commandment. She also appeared in Mojave, American Reunion, Premium Rush, Quarantine, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and voiced ‘Scandal Savage’ in DC's Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay.

She is a film producer and co-produced and starred in horror feature film Lycan as ‘Isabella Cruz’. She also produced and co-starred in Off The Menu, a romantic comedy which uniquely combines the passions of both love and food. Dania began modeling in New York and was named the face of CoverGirl Cosmetics where she and Queen Latifah launched the CoverGirl “Clean Makeup for Clean Water” Campaign in 2010. She also appeared in the CÎROC “Luck Be A Lady” campaign with Sean “P Diddy” Combs that was shown around the world.

Born in the Dominican Republic, Dania was raised by her grandmother until she moved to New York City at the age of ten and reunited with her parents. She studied at Montclair State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and was a star volleyball player. She is married to director Bev Land, and they share two children: fraternal twins John and Gaia.
