Daniel Humm

Daniel Humm is the founder, owner, and chef of Make It Nice, a New York-based hospitality group that operates several notable establishments including Eleven Madison Park, which he and a business partner acquired in 2011. Prior to purchasing the restaurant, he served as its executive chef for five years. In addition to Eleven Madison Park, Humm has been instrumental in the opening of NoMad, Made Nice, and Davies and Brook in London through the Make It Nice group.

Originally from Switzerland, Humm relocated to San Francisco in 2003 to serve as the executive chef at Campton Place. His culinary excellence was recognized early in his career, earning his first Michelin star at the age of 24. Under his leadership, Eleven Madison Park has garnered significant acclaim, notably achieving the No. 1 spot on the World’s Best Restaurants list in 2017. Humm is also a published author, having written four books that share his culinary philosophy and experiences.

Beyond his culinary achievements, Daniel Humm is committed to addressing food sustainability and equity issues. He co-founded Rethink Food, a nonprofit organization focused on creating a more sustainable and equitable food system. This initiative reflects his dedication to leveraging his expertise and resources to foster significant social change within the culinary industry.
