Danielle Hirsch

From the time she was born, Danielle was destined to make the world a more beautiful place, one paint color at a time. Her father, a ship captain and craftsman, her grandfather a professor at the Southampton College of Art in England; Danielle literally was born with a paintbrush in one hand and a hammer in the other. Recognizing and embracing her passion and inherent talent in the artistic world, Danielle explored the wonderful world of decorative and faux painting while she earned her bachelor of fine arts at the University of Miami.

When Danielle moved to California, nearly 10 years ago, she further honed her impressive artistic and decorative skills when she purchased a "quaint" fixer-upper in the Bay area and turned it into a beautiful, charming mountain home. After the successful renovation of her home, Danielle had the confidence to pursue a faux finishing business called, Faux Real. With such an innate artistic gift, her business quickly took off. From walls to ceilings, floors to furniture, Danielle created beautiful finishes in multi-million dollar homes throughout the country. Soon, her client list included exclusive Bay Area hotels, famous dignitaries, and the inevitable rock star.

It's no surprise that HGTV snatched-up the energetic and talented Danielle to co-host their newest hit show, Design Remix. Utilizing her strengths in painting and carpentry, Danielle has inspired homeowners all over the country to beautify their homes through simple carpentry and painting techniques. Whether it's French Renaissance or Urban Chic, Danielle's ability to easily and succinctly explain various finishing techniques has helped people throughout the country make the dramatic changes to their homes they've always dreamed.

Balancing two young children with the demanding 39 episode a year schedule, Danielle's personality continues to remain lively and she manages to keep a very active life style. She enjoys running and riding her bike in the mountains, but you may also find her snowboarding, riding motocross or surfing. If that isn't enough, Danielle is busy working on her own "how to" line of DVD's and creating her own line of paint and faux finishing products. Stay tuned to what's next!
