Dave Morin

Dave Morin, a seasoned entrepreneur and technology expert, is widely recognized for his pivotal role at Facebook, where he co-invented Facebook Connect and Facebook Platform. These innovations transformed user interaction across the internet, enhancing entertainment, peer engagement, and information sharing functionalities. Facebook Connect facilitates user interactions across various websites using their Facebook accounts, while Facebook Platform allows developers to build and distribute their applications within the Facebook ecosystem.

In addition to his significant contributions at Facebook, Morin has a rich history in product and marketing roles at Apple, where he honed his expertise in technology and entrepreneurship. Following his tenure at these major corporations, Morin launched Path.com, a social networking platform designed for more intimate interactions, allowing users to connect with a select group of 150 friends. Although Google showed interest in acquiring Path for $100 million, Morin continued to develop the platform until its acquisition by Kakao in 2015.

Beyond his notable achievements in social media, Morin is the Founder & Partner at Slow Ventures, a venture capital firm that invests in forward-thinking startups such as "Slack", "Pinterest", and "Robinhood". He is also the Co-Founder & CEO of Sunrise, a company dedicated to curing depression and alleviating suffering through innovative blends of science, technology, and spirituality. Morin holds a degree in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder and actively contributes to the boards of "Dwell" and Esalen. He serves as an advisor to VSCO, and his diverse interests include culture, design, photography, nature, skiing, and societal improvement. Morin currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, Brit Morin, who is the Founder and CEO of Brit + Co.
