David Ajala

David Ajala is a British actor who can be seen on the Paramount+ series "Star Trek: Discovery" and in the film "Italian Studies" starring alongside Vanessa Kirby. He initially gained notoriety for his lead role in two seasons of the USA Network series "Falling Water." He also starred in the Syfy limited series "Nightflyers," based on the George C. Martin novel, and played iconic DC supervillain Manchester Black in the CW's "Supergirl."

Ajala was first introduced to US audiences in the ABC-TV series "Black Box" alongside Vanessa Redgrave. He has appeared in a wide range of television roles, including as a rapper in the British sitcom "Trexx and Flipside," and in guest roles on award-winning series such as "Black Mirror," "Law & Order: UK," "Death in Paradise," "Silent Witness" and "Dr. Who."

Other notable film work includes "Fast & Furious 6," "Jupiter Ascending," and the indie film "Kill Command." Additional silver screen credits include "One Day," "The Dark Knight," and "Payback Season," among others.

Ajala began his career performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company at the Courtyard Theater in Stratford-upon-Avon. He has performed in productions of "The Witness," "Hamlet" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at The National Theatre, Royal Court Theatre and The Almeida Theatre.
