David Gordon Green Biography
David Gordon Green is an American filmmaker. He directed the dramas George Washington, All the Real Girls, and Snow Angels, as well as the thriller Undertow, all of which he also wrote or co-wrote.
In 2008, Green transitioned into comedy, directing the films Pineapple Express, Your Highness, and The Sitter. He returned to his dramatic roots with the independent films, Prince Avalanche and Joe in 2013, followed by the films Manglehorn, Our Brand Is Crisis, and Stronger.
Green is also well known for his horror films. He directed a trilogy of slasher films in the Halloween franchise: Halloween, Halloween Kills, and Halloween Ends, which he co-wrote with frequent collaborator Danny McBride. He also directed a new installment of The Exorcist franchise, released in 2023, which is a direct sequel to William Friedkin's 1973 film adaptation of the 1971 novel.
In television, Green directed episodes of the comedy series "Eastbound & Down," "Red Oaks,," "Vice Principals," and "The Righteous Gemstones," on all of which he additionally served as executive producer.
