David J. Neff

David J. Neff is a venture capitalist and serial entrepreneur with over two decades of experience impacting consumers' lives across roles in software development, digital product and strategy. As Operating Partner at Ecliptic Capital, he oversees a diverse portfolio of Life Sciences, Climate Change and Deep Tech startups, working with them on their operational and financial success.

Neff’s career was built in eCommerce, Product, and Strategy with the American Cancer Society, before founding his own digital consulting firm and contributing to the success of various startups. Notably, he played pivotal roles in firms acquired by PwC and Accenture, and led the sales integration of a third acquisition. His expertise extends to leading digital strategy for prominent clients such as Hulu, Verizon, Dell, Lowe's, Southwest Airlines, Pepsi, Lululemon, Office Depot, and Discover Card. His international experience includes clients such as Tesco, Sky TV, and Kingfisher.

A much-in-demand speaker and trainer, Neff has spoken at TEDx, SXSW, The University of Texas, Social Media Club, The Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the Nonprofit Technology Conference, among others. He is the author of three books, including "The Future of Nonprofits: Thrive and Innovate in the Digital Age" and "IGNITE: Setting your Organization's Culture on Fire with Innovation." A previous winner of the American Marketing Association's Marketer of the Year, he has also been recognized as an Austin Monthly People Under 30 to Know and is a recipient of an Austin Under 40 award for up-and-coming professionals.

Neff is also the CEO and co-founder of the Weird Homes Tour, an eclectic national tour that provides access into the strangest, weirdest and wackiest homes. He wrote "Weird Homes: The People and Places that Keep Austin Strangely Wonderful," which donates a percentage of its sales to local affordable housing nonprofits.

Neff is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and a Climate Fellow at Terra.do. He serves on the Board of Directors for both the Moody College of Communications at the University of Texas and the Multicultural Refugee Center.
