David Levy

David Levy is a nationally recognized economist and forecaster with over three decades of professional experience. He is known for his unique approach to assessing economic conditions, termed the "Profits Perspective." Levy is the chairman and managing partner of the independent Jerome Levy Forecasting Center in Mount Kisco, NY, which provides macroeconomic consulting services to a range of high-end clients including commercial firms and major hedge funds.

Levy coauthors the monthly Levy Forecast, the nation's oldest newsletter devoted exclusively to forecasting and analyzing economic conditions. A third-generation family member to head the firm, he is one of the few economists who have successfully forecast the financial meltdowns that accompanied each of the last three recessions, including the financial collapse of 2007-2009. Levy also explores deeper economic insights, discussing the causes of the 2008-2009 financial crisis and its ongoing influence on today's economic conditions. He is known for critiquing mainstream macroeconomic theories and offering insights into significant shifts in economic behavior over the past 30 years.

Levy has provided briefings, consultations, and testimony to members of Congress, administration officials, and Federal Reserve governors. He was appointed by President Clinton in 1997 to the Commission to Study Capital Budgeting. Frequently featured on television networks such as Bloomberg, CNBC, Fox, and NBC, Levy is a respected voice in financial media. He is also the coauthor of "Profits and the Future of American Society" (HarperCollins). He holds a B.A. in mathematics from Williams College, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, and an M.B.A. from the Columbia University School of Business.
