David Nihill

Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, David Nihill is the author of the best-selling book "Do You Talk Funny?" and the Founder of FunnyBizz Conference. His work has been featured in Inc., Lifehacker, The Huffington Post, Fast Company, Entrepreneur, Forbes, NPR, The Wall Street Journal, The Irish Times, Amazon Prime Video, Dry Bar Comedy, TED, and the Irish Independent. Recognized as "one of the best speaking coaches out there" by Forbes, his program now has over 34,000 students. His book remains one of the highest rated on public speaking, and his content has been read by over one million people.

A sought-after international business speaker, Nihill has performed standup comedy with videos receiving over 300 million views and he has a social following of over 1.5 million people. He has performed at leading clubs including Cobbs, the Comedy Store, the Improv, the Punchline, and the Upright Citizens Brigade. Despite his success in comedy, he maintains that he is not a comedian and acknowledges that many may not understand his accent. As a storyteller, he finished runner-up in NPR’s the Moth’s largest US storytelling competition and has won multiple Moth Storyslam competitions.

A graduate of the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, Nihill calls San Francisco home, when immigration officials permit. Named on the 2017 Irish America 100 List, which recognizes the accomplishments of leading Irish-American and Irish-born leaders, he has also taught at prestigious institutions such as Stanford Graduate Business School, University of Oxford, UC Berkeley, and University College Dublin.
