David Shirk Biography
David Shirk is the director of the Trans-Border Institute and associate professor of political science at the University of San Diego. He conducts research on Mexican politics, U.S.-Mexican relations, and law enforcement and security along the U.S.-Mexican border.
Shirk has served as graduate director for Masters in International Relations since 2015.
He is an international relations author and co-author.
Dr. Shirk received his doctorate in political science at the University of California, San Diego, and was fellow at the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies.
