Devon Kennard

Before being drafted into the NFL by the New York Giants in 2014, Devon Kennard earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communication Management from the University of Southern California. Kennard was also a High School All-American and ranked as a top-10 football prospect nationally. In 2013, he was named to the Second-team All-Pac-12 while playing college football at USC.

From an early age, Kennard committed to excellence both on and off the field. He was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team in 2010 and 2011 and completed his undergraduate degree in three years, followed by his master’s in 1.5 years. By the time he was drafted into the NFL, Kennard was among a select group of players who had already completed both undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Throughout his NFL career, Kennard played for the New York Giants, Detroit Lions, Arizona Cardinals, and Baltimore Ravens. After signing with the Detroit Lions in 2018, he was elected as a team captain in both 2018 and 2019. Over his career, he accumulated 357 combined tackles, 26.5 sacks, and 54 tackles for loss. Kennard was also elected as the NFL Player Association representative by his teammates from 2016 to 2020, voting on the new collective bargaining agreement that took effect for the 2021 NFL season. He announced his retirement from professional football in November 2023 after a successful career.

Off the field, Kennard discovered a passion for real estate investing and building passive income. Today, he has turned this passion into a thriving second chapter of his life. His portfolio includes 29 properties, 50 syndication investments, and over $5 million loaned out through his private lending company, 42 Solutions. Kennard is also deeply involved in humanitarian efforts, such as a mission trip to Haiti with his USC teammates to assist in building homes.

A key focus for Kennard is sharing his knowledge and experience, especially in financial literacy. In addition to his award-winning books, "It All Adds Up" and "Real Estate Side Hustle," he regularly creates educational content on social media and provides mentorship to current and former NFL players as well as youth. His dedication to promoting education and financial empowerment earned him a nomination for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2019. Kennard’s passion for inspiring young people to pursue financial success is rooted in his belief that teaching financial literacy can unlock lifelong freedom and opportunities. Above all, Kennard’s greatest pride and purpose come from his family—his wife, Camille, and their two daughters.
