Having begun training at 2-years-old, dancing has always been a source of self-expression and release for Diamond. In 2012, Garrett survived a traumatic gun violence attack that left her paralyzed from the waist down. Her biggest fear after finding out about her paralysis was that she would no longer be able to dance. Around the time of Garrett's injury, the TV show Push Girls gained popularity, where she learned about wheelchair dancing. In early 2021, Garrett became an instant hit on TikTok through her energetic dances. She is also a motivational speaker, a gun violence survivor and activist, and an LGBTQ rights advocate.
