Dirty Heads

The Dirty Heads, an American reggae rock band from Huntington Beach, California, was founded in 1996 by Jared "Dirty J" Watson and vocalist/guitarist Dustin "Duddy B" Bushnell. The band's name is derived from a nickname given to them by their older siblings during their childhood. Over the years, additional members, including percussionist Jon Olazabal and bassist David Foral, were added to the lineup. The band's music journey began with the release of their debut album, "Any Port in a Storm," in 2008. This was followed by a series of successful albums such as "Cabin by the Sea," "Home - Phantoms of Summer," and "Sound of Change," which peaked at #2 on Top Rock Albums and #8 on the Billboard 200.

Dirty Heads has a history of collaboration with other renowned music groups and artists. They have been associated with music groups such as Sublime with Rome, 311, and Pepper. One of their most successful singles to date is "Lay Me Down," featuring Rome Ramirez of Sublime With Rome, which held the #1 spot on the Alternative hit chart for more than ten weeks. They have also co-written songs with Rome Ramirez for Blues Traveler's album "Blow Up the Moon." The band's album "Swim Team," which was released in 2017, featured collaborations with The Unlikely Candidates and Nick Hexum of 311.

Dirty Heads have consistently showcased their creativity and exploration in the music industry. Their eighth studio album, "Midnight Control," released in 2022, is described by band member Jared Watson as the culmination of almost two decades of musical exploration. They have also ventured into other creative spheres, such as collaborating with Four Sons Brewing in 2017 to create a limited-edition "Session Ale" named after their song "Vacation." Their ability to create and innovate has kept them in the limelight, with their largest sold-out show attracting 8,500 people at the Orange County Fair's Pacific Amphitheatre in 2013.
