Diva Amon

Dr. Diva Amon is a Caribbean marine biologist, 2020 National Geographic Emerging Explorer, and accomplished researcher of the fascinating fauna found in the lesser-known regions of the deep ocean. Her work not only explores but also documents these unique underwater environments, contributing significantly to our understanding of marine biology.

Amon starred in the National Geographic and Disney+ series "Welcome to Earth," where she served as the deep-sea expert guiding Will Smith into the profound depths of the ocean. Her extensive field experience includes over a year spent on global expeditions, investigating uncharted ocean habitats from Antarctica to the Mariana Trench. She has achieved personal records by descending up to 2.6 kilometers below the ocean surface in the Cayman Trench, experiences she often shares in her engaging public talks.

Her research addresses the significant impacts of human activities on the deep ocean, such as deep-sea mining, pollution, and climate change.
