Dominique Anglade Biography
Dominique Anglade is a prominent figure in Canadian politics, business, and engineering, and has held notable positions in both the public and private sectors.
She first made her mark in the corporate world, working for consulting giant McKinsey & Company in Montreal. She transitioned into politics, where she served as the president of the Coalition Avenir Québec from 2012 to 2013 before representing Saint-Henri–Sainte-Anne in the National Assembly of Quebec from 2015 to 2022.
Anglade's political career is marked by a series of firsts: she was the first person of Haitian descent to become a cabinet minister in Canada, and from May 11, 2020 to December 1, 2022, she served as the leader of the Quebec Liberal Party and Leader of the Opposition of Quebec, making her the first woman to lead the Quebec Liberal Party and the first black woman to lead a provincial party in Quebec.
Anglade is deeply involved in community service and she co-founded Kanpe, a charity aimed at assisting rural Haitians with rebuilding after the devastating 2010 Haiti Earthquake.
