Dominique Moceanu

Dominique Helena Moceanu is an author and retired gymnast. She was a member of the gold-medal-winning United States women's gymnastics team, the "Magnificent Seven," at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

Moceanu was the youngest American gymnast, male or female, to win an Olympic gold medal (age 14), to win a Senior National All-Around Title (age 13), to compete at the World Championships, to earn a spot on the U.S. National Team, and the youngest person to ever be on a Wheaties box.

Leading up to the Atlanta Olympics, Moceanu was featured on the cover of Vanity Fair and wrote an autobiography, “Dominique Moceanu: An American Champion”. Her autobiography was highly successful and ranked number seven on the New York Times’ Best Sellers List.

Moceanu was also photographed in Olympic Portraits by world renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz. Her memoir “Off Balance” was a NYT Best Seller. She co-authored the Go-ForThe-Gold Gymnasts series which was released in 2012. Today Moceanu is coaching up-and-coming young gymnasts and attending camps and clinics across the U.S.

Moceanu continues to inspire others as a motivational speaker. She is also a proud business owner of Creations by C&C, a jewelry line she started in 2014. Moceanu married Dr. Michael B. Canales in November of 2006 and the couple have two children.
