She was previously with Nike, Vestas, Bestseller and Hempel, and her profound experience consulting on and developing sustainability strategies has substantially contributed to her ability to form positive bottom-line results, create future-fit businesses and position companies as thought leaders. She is a distinguished expert in sustainability, government affairs and communication with over 20 years of experience and international exposure.

Nielsen also has extensive experience in government affairs, focusing primarily on the EU and the US, and she also spent time with the US Embassy in Denmark working for the Department of State. Furthermore, she has substantial experience engaging with leading NGOs and has co-founded sustainability initiatives such as Invest FWD and the American Wind & Wildlife Institute. Throughout her career, Nielsen has held several high-profile jobs including Chief Sustainability Officer & VP of Corporate Affairs for Bestseller, VP of Sustainability & Government Affairs for Hempel, Director of Global Sustainability Policy for NIKE and she presently serves as an Independent Board Director and Executive Advisor.
