Dr. Elvis Francois

Dr. Elvis Francois, M.D., also known as "The Singing Surgeon," is an American orthopedic surgeon and amateur singer who gained national attention during his residency at Mayo Clinic for his musical performances. His blend of medical expertise and musical talent has been featured on multiple television programs including "The Ellen Show," "CBS This Morning," and "The View."

Francois was named after Elvis Presley, and his passion for music is evident in his efforts to combine motivational talks with live music performances. He released an album of song covers in 2020 titled "Music is Medicine" to raise funds for COVID-19 relief. This album reached #2 on the iTunes charts and top 20 on the Billboard charts. The entire project was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Carpet Booth Studios in Rochester, Minnesota. His dedication to combining his musical talent with his medical career serves as an inspiration to many, showcasing his journey from poverty as a first-generation Haitian American to becoming a renowned spinal surgeon.

Francois has completed a 5-year residency at the Mayo Clinic in June 2020, and shortly thereafter, a 3-month spine surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He is currently a spine surgery fellow at Harvard Beth Israel. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he has published many peer-reviewed scientific publications and lectured at both national and international medical conferences. His unique story includes appearances on popular platforms such as season 4 of "The Masked Singer" as the "Serpent," noted for being the first character with animatronic parts.
