Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu

Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu was educated at Morgan State, Illinois State, and Union Graduate School. He has been a guest speaker at most universities across the U.S. and has served as a consultant to numerous urban school districts. He has authored 40 books, including "Black Students: Middle Class Teachers," "Keeping Black Boys Out of Special Education," "An African Centered Response to Ruby Payne’s Poverty Theory," "Raising Black Boys," "Understanding Black Male Learning Styles," "Educating Black Girls," and "Raising Black Girls." His recent publications include "COVID 1619." His work has been prominently featured in "Ebony" and "Essence Magazine," and he has appeared on BET, MSNBC, and Oprah. His educational materials are also used in online courses nationwide.

Dr. Kunjufu is a dedicated family man, being a husband, father, and grandfather. He maintains a healthy lifestyle as a vegetarian and an avid tennis player. Remarkably, he has maintained a perfect attendance in his professional commitments for 47 years.
