Dr. John Townsend

Dr. John Townsend, a clinical psychologist and leadership consultant, has dedicated over two decades to assisting leaders, organizations, and individuals in enhancing their effectiveness and overall well-being. With a prolific authorship record, he has written or co-authored 27 books, including the New York Times best-seller "Boundaries," along with other notable works such as "It's Not My Fault," and "Leadership Beyond Reason: How Great Leaders Succeed by Harnessing the Power of Their Values, Feelings, and Intuition."

In addition to his writing, Dr. Townsend co-hosts the nationally syndicated talk show "New Life Live," which is broadcast across 180 markets and reaches 3 million listeners. His engaging, insightful, and humorous delivery has made him a sought-after speaker both nationally and internationally. Furthermore, he brings his expertise to the business sector through his Leadership Coaching Program, aimed at executives, managers, and small business owners, conducted in Newport Beach, CA, Dallas, TX, and Indianapolis, IN.

Dr. Townsend holds a B.A. in psychology with honors from North Carolina State University, a master of theology degree with honors from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Biola University. He resides in Newport Beach, California, with his wife, Barbi, and their two sons. Dr. Townsend is also an active board member of Mustard Seed Ranch, a residential program for abused children, and enjoys playing in a band that performs across southern California. His extensive involvement in leadership and relationship seminars globally for more than 20 years, and his experience co-founding and directing a healthcare company that operated in 35 cities in the western U.S., further highlight his commitment to impacting lives across multiple platforms.
