With a Ph.D. in physiology from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Schlessinger further holds a post-doctoral certification in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling from the University of Southern California. Previously in private practice for 12 years, she has also served on the faculty of the Department of Biology at the University of Southern California, and the Graduate Psychology Department at Pepperdine University.
