Dr. Michael Gervais

Dr. Michael Gervais is a high-performance psychologist, author, and an expert on the psychology that underlies mastery. Throughout his career, Dr. Gervais has pursued the question of whether there’s a common thread in how the world’s most extraordinary thinkers and doers use their minds to push the boundaries of human potential. His clients include NFL's Super Bowl Champions, the Seattle Seahawks, world record holders, Olympians, and Fortune 100 CEOs, in addition to artists and musicians, and MVPs from every major sport.

Dr. Gervais is the co-founder of Winforever Consulting and Compete to Create, a digital platform business that works with Fortune 500 companies and leaders using high-performance mindset training. He also co-created the Performance Science Institute at the USC Marshall School of Business. His book "Compete to Create: An Approach to Living and Leading Authentically," co-authored with NFL coach Pete Carroll, was published as an Audible Original in 2020. Additionally, a new book authored by Dr. Gervais is scheduled for publication by Harvard Business Review in fall 2023.

Dr. Gervais is the host of the “Finding Mastery” podcast, which interviews those who excel in rugged and pressure-packed environments and is in the top 1% of podcasts globally with over 25 million downloads. He has been featured by major media outlets including CNN, The Wall Street Journal, ESPN, NBC, NFL Network, and others. Dr. Gervais completed his PhD at San Diego University, studying under Dr. Bruce Ogilvie, a pioneer in American applied sport psychology, and holds a master’s degree in kinesiology. Through his work and personal pursuits like surfing and skiing, he continuously explores the themes of mastery and human potential.
