Dr. Michael Guillen

Dr. Michael Guillen was born in East Los Angeles, where he dreamed of becoming a scientist. This dream propelled him through his education at UCLA, where he earned a B.S. in physics and mathematics, and later at Cornell University, where he obtained an M.S. in experimental physics, as well as a Ph.D. in physics, mathematics, and astronomy. For eight years, he served as an award-winning physics instructor at Harvard University. He has also been honored with honorary doctorates from the University of Maryland and Pepperdine University.

Dr. G is widely recognized for his fourteen-year tenure as the ABC News Science Editor, a role he held from 1988 to 2002. During this time, he made regular appearances on "Good Morning America," "20/20," "Nightline," and "World News Tonight." Additionally, he hosted "Where Did It Come From?", a weekly, one-hour primetime series for The History Channel. His contributions to journalism have earned him three Emmy Awards, and he is a member of the prestigious Explorers Club.

Beyond television, Dr. G has significant achievements in other media. He hosted and wrote the PBS special "Wit, Grit, and Robot Games," the ten-part PBS series "Great Minds of Business" and "Great Minds of Medicine," and the ABC-TV special "SeaWorld Mother Earth Celebration" alongside co-host Mayim Bialik. He produced "Little Red Wagon," an award-winning theatrical motion picture, and founded Spectacular Science Productions, an all-media production company. Dr. G is also the co-founder and principal partner of Accelarise Media, focusing on innovative media strategies. He is currently developing various television and movie projects through his production company.

As an author, Dr. G has written extensively, contributing hundreds of articles to publications such as Science News, Psychology Today, The New York Times, and The Washington Post. His books, including "Bridges to Infinity: The Human Side of Mathematics," "Five Equations That Changed the World: The Power and Poetry of Mathematics," and "Believing is Seeing: A Physicist Explains How Science Shattered His Atheism and Revealed the Necessity of Faith," an Amazon #1 Best Seller, have reached international audiences. He also hosts the popular weekly podcast series "Science+God," which is produced by K-LOVE and Air1 Radio.

Dr. G continues to engage audiences worldwide through his work and resides with his family in Dallas, Texas, maintaining an active role in the scientific and educational communities.
