Drew Pearson

Drew Pearson is a sportscaster, businessman, and former star wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, having played his entire career (1973-1983) with the team. Known for his critical game-winning catches, Pearson's professional football career has left a lasting impact on the sport.

Pearson began his football career at South River High School, succeeding Joe Theismann as quarterback. He attended the University of Tulsa, where he initially played as a part-time quarterback before transitioning to flanker, catching 33 passes for a run-oriented team. There, he received the University's President's Award as the team's "best spirited and most unselfish" member, graduating in 1972.

In 1973, Pearson joined the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent, quickly establishing himself as a key player. Over his 11 seasons, he recorded 489 receptions for 7,822 yards and 48 touchdowns. He was named All-Pro three times (1974, 1976-77) and was a Pro Bowler in 1974, 1976, and 1977. Additionally, Pearson helped lead the Cowboys to three Super Bowl appearances and a victory in Super Bowl XII. His prowess is highlighted by his "Hail Mary" touchdown reception from Roger Staubach in the 1975 NFC Divisional Playoffs, a play that remains one of the most iconic in NFL history.

After his playing career, Pearson transitioned into various roles including sportscasting and business, and has been a motivational speaker at numerous events. He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, inducted in the Class of 2021, and is also celebrated on the NFL 1970s All-Decade Team. Currently, Pearson is the General Manager of the IFL's Allen Wranglers and resides in the Dallas, Texas area. He continues to make personal appearances and participates in various speaking engagements, offering customized presentations tailored to specific themes or audiences.
