Dwight D. Jones Sr. is a 37-year technologist, including 20 years at Microsoft. He has pioneered many firsts in technology and has received many awards and accolades throughout his career. Jones Sr. recently led the Microsoft Digital team responsible for proving to the world that Microsoft can support government programs safely and securely in Azure Cloud. He continues to lead the way and is currently bringing multiple AI initiatives to life. Jones Sr. is also the Chairman of Data Platform & Growth Blacks at Microsoft Employee Resource Group.
Jones Sr. is the author of "A Black Journey in Tech" and an advocate for closing the digital divide for the underrepresented in technology. Jones Sr. also very recently published "DEAN DID IT!: How I Turned Autism into a Superpower!" A book written to inspire children and the parents of children with special needs.
As a speaker Jones Sr. is an Award-winning Toastmaster winning multiple speech contests at the local and regional level. Jones Sr. is passionate about the topic of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and has dedicated his life's work is to reach back to underrepresented communities, corporations and students to share his lessons learned. Jones Sr. is a regular speaker in middle, high schools and colleges in the Seattle area. In addition, Jones Sr. has shared his story of encouragement and hope to Microsoft Blacks at Microsoft (BAM) chapters across the U.S. and was flown to present to BAM in the Washington D.C. area during Minority Student Day. Jones Sr. has also shared his message in churches and schools in the Atlanta, Ga. area. Most recently Jones Sr. gave the keynote address to more than 1,000 attendees in a joint Intel and Microsoft event honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, where Dwight shared a compelling message "Keeping Reverand Dr. Martin Luther King’s Dream Alive.
