Elaine Lin Hering

Elaine Lin Hering is Managing Partner of Triad Consulting Group, a global leadership development firm founded out of the Harvard Negotiation Project.

She has spent over a decade teaching people how to negotiate, communicate effectively, speak up, and fully unleash their talent. She is the author of the forthcoming book, "Unlearning Silence: The Ways We Silence Ourselves, Silence Others, and What To Do About It" (Penguin 2024). Hering enlightens and empowers individuals to bridge the silences between us, across cultures, workplaces, and communities.

Hering has facilitated executive education programs at Harvard, Dartmouth, UCLA, UC Berkeley, and Tufts, served as the Advanced Training Director for the Harvard Mediation Program, and teaches negotiation as a faculty member at Harvard Law School. She has worked with coal miners at BHP Billiton, micro-finance organizers in East Africa, mental health professionals in China, and senior leadership at the US Department of Commerce. Her representative clients include American Express, Capital One, Google, Merck, Nike, Shell, Pixar, the Red Cross, and Workday. She has been an invited speaker at conferences ranging from the World Business Dialogue in Germany to the Global Leadership Summit.

Hering is a graduate of Harvard Law School and the University of California Berkeley, where she studied Political Science and Music, and Sino-American Relations at Peking University in Beijing.
