Dr. Eleni "Lenio" Myrivili is a leading figure in urban climate resilience, serving as Global Chief Heat Officer for UN-Habitat and the Atlantic Council’s Arsht-Rock Resilience Center. As elected deputy Mayor for the City of Athens (2014-2019) she spearheaded the city’s Urban Resilience and Climate Adaptation Plan, anchoring 55m from EIB, and then she led its implementation. Recognition for this work led to engagement with multiple cities and organizations worldwide, as she focused on extreme heat.
Dr. Myrivili advises and sits on Boards of Directors at the EU Mission Adaptation, the Global Covenant of Mayors, and the WEF Global Risks Report. As a trailblazer in addressing the urban heat crisis, she is sought out by international media such as CNN, BBC, NHK, Al Jazeera, the Guardian, and the New York Times. She has delivered a TED talk, addressed the British Parliament, and contributed to the UN Secretary General’s Call to Action on Extreme Heat.
