Emilio Zamora Biography
Emilio Zamora is a professor in the Department of History at The University of Texas at Austin. He specializes in Mexican American history, Texas history, oral history, and transnational (U.S./Mexico) working class history.
His latest publications are "Claiming Rights and Righting Wrongs in Texas," "Mexican Job Politics during World War II" and "Beyond the Latino World War II Hero: The Social and Political Legacy of a Generation" (co-edited with Dr. Maggie Rivas-Rodriguez).
Zamora has served as the Vice Chair of the advisory board of the Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC, Austin), and a member of the advisory board of the Hispanic Texas History Project, a statewide archival collection program with the Recovering the U.S. Hispanic Literary Heritage Project based at the University of Houston.
Zamora also serves as a Fellow of the Texas State Historical Association and as a Fellow of the Barbara White Stuart Centennial Professorship in Texas history at The University of Texas.
