Born and raised in New Jersey, Emma moved to New York City at the age of 16 to pursue her acting dreams. She attended a Performing Arts high-school on the upper east side of Manhattan. After several "Law and Order" episodes, independent films, and commercials, she finally landed a supporting lead on the CW series, "Bedford Diaries" starring Penn Badgley.
But it was her supporting character in Boaz Yakin's 2008 "Death in Love" that lead her to bigger and better things. Emma was honored and lucky to work alongside some of the greats. Jacqueline Bisset, Josh Lucas, Lukas Haas and Adam Brody starred in the movie about a Jewish woman's holocaust past that shaped her life and subsequently the lives of her sons. Emma played the younger version of Jacqueline's character.
"Death in Love" premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. Afterwards Emma moved to Los Angeles.
The first few years in LA, she worked in such projects as Sebastian Gutierrez's "Elektra Luxxe" and a few co-starring roles on "Ghost Whisperer" and "Supernatural."
In the winter of 2009, Emma shot "Frozen" written and directed by Adam Green in the wintry tundra of Utah. "Frozen" marked Emma's first leading role in a movie. The movie is about three skiers that get stuck on a ski-lift in the middle of a snowstorm and have to survive for a week. Shawn Ashmore and Kevin Zegers also star. "Frozen" premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.
In 2011, Emma booked the role of "Amy" on AMC's "The Walking Dead." They shot for two months in Atlanta during that summer. She had the honor and privilege of working with greats such as the shows creator, Frank Darabont and his producing partner Gale Ann Hurd. Not to mention Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Jon Bernthal, Laurie Holden, Jeff DeMunn and Steven Yeun. Given Amy's untimely demise, Emma was sad to leave her new family.
That fall, luck struck again with Emma landing the lead role in New Line's 5th franchise installment of "Final Destination." Shooting in Vancouver, CA for three months was an amazing experience.
"Final Destination 5" came out in theaters August 12, 2011 and was shot entirely in 3D.
Bell currently stars as Emma Brown on the TNT reboot of "Dallas."
