Eraserheads

Formed in 1989, Eraserheads is a Filipino rock band that quickly rose to prominence in the music industry of the Philippines. Known as "the Beatles of the Philippines," the band has had a significant influence on the local music scene, leading to the creation of a tribute album in 2005 titled "Ultraelectromagneticjam!: The Music of the Eraserheads." Their success was not only confined within the country, as they bagged MTV Asia’s Viewers Choice Award at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City, the only Philippine artist to have achieved this feat before the MTV Asia Awards were conceived. Notably, Eraserheads also performed at the 43rd Miss Universe pageant in 1994.

Eraserheads has a rich discography with multiple commercially successful albums that include "Ultraelectromagneticpop!", "Circus", "Cutterpillow", "Fruitcake", "Sticker Happy", "Natin99", and "Carbon Stereoxide." The band also made appearances in films, notably starring in the comedy film "Run Barbi Run" in 1995. After disbanding in 2002, Eraserheads reunited in 2008 and began making sporadic touring and promotional appearances in the Philippines and overseas.

Eraserheads continued to make waves in the music industry with their reunion concerts, including "The Final Set" in 2009, which saw a turnout of 100,000 attendees. They embarked on international tours between 2012 and 2014, performing in the United States, Canada, Dubai, Singapore, and London. Furthering their legacy, the band released a documentary titled "Eraserheads: Combo on the Run" in 2025, which details their journey up to the 2022 reunion. In recognition of their contributions, Eraserheads received multiple awards including the Hall of Fame award at the NU Rock Awards X in 2003 and the Gawad Oblation award in 2024.
