Eric Ryan

Eric Ryan, the architect of the Method brand, brings experience and enthusiasm for building consumer and retail concepts. He spent over seven years in advertising, trend-spotting, and brand positioning for high-end consumer brands including Gap, Old Navy, and Saturn.

By leveraging his knowledge of fashion and design, Ryan has invented a modern and stylish line of cleaning products that are becoming permanent fixtures in homes internationally. Method products are now sold in over 25,000 retail locations across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., reflecting their growing popularity and market acceptance.

When Ryan and his business partner Adam Lowry founded Method, they aimed to create an environmentally friendly brand of cleaning products characterized by visually appealing packaging and pleasant aromas like green tea and cucumber. These features have helped transform household products into desirable lifestyle accessories. Their marketing campaign, 'People Against Dirty,' emphasizes their commitment not only to combating everyday grime but also to eliminating toxic chemicals found in many household detergents.

Their first book, "Squeaky Green," serves as an informative and engaging room-by-room guide to a cleaner and more environmentally friendly home. The book is packed with helpful tips and surprising facts, positioning itself as a resource for homes looking to reduce chemical dependence.

Ryan earned his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Rhode Island. He currently resides in San Francisco with his wife, Ingrid, and their two children, Anya and Mattius.
