Eric Young Biography
Eric Young had a lengthy major league career, but is best known for being a star in the early years of the Colorado Rockies. Young led off the Rockies first ever home game with a home run. He would play five seasons for Colorado, earning an All-Star bid and Silver Slugger Award in 1996. Young led the National League with 53 stolen bases and hit .324. The Rockies made their first playoff appearance with him at second base and he also still holds the franchise record for stolen bases. Young played for six other franchises, but his impact in Colorado will never be forgotten. In retirement, he has been both a broadcaster and a coach. Young is currently back with the Rockies as their first base coach.
