Erin Jackson

Erin Jackson, a trailblazer from Ocala, Florida, is the first Black woman to win an individual Olympic gold medal in the Winter Olympic Games. She emerged victorious in long track speed skating at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games. Jackson's journey began in a local roller rink and transitioned from being a dominant figure in inline speedskating, where she is a 47-time National Champion and an 11-time World Championships medalist, to conquering ice speed skating.

Jackson graduated cum laude from the University of Florida Honors Program with a BS in Materials Science & Engineering in 2015. She made a significant transition to speedskating on ice two years later and quickly demonstrated her prowess by qualifying for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. In addition to her studies in Materials Science, she earned an AS in Computer Science from Salt Lake Community College in 2020 and is pursuing an AS in Exercise Science and Kinesiology. Her academic ambitions include earning a Master's Degree in Materials Science with a focus on a career in biomedical engineering.

Beyond her Olympic success, Jackson has become a notable figure in sports and motivation speaking, often focusing on topics such as Millennial Motivation, Overcoming Adversity, Peak Performance, Personal Growth, Resilience, and Sports. Her achievements extend to roller derby, where she excels as a top 'jammer' for Team USA Roller Derby. Additionally, in November 2021, she broke new ground by becoming the first black American woman to win a World Cup Gold Medal in speed skating. Jackson's story is not just about athletic prowess but also about her remarkable ability to inspire and motivate across various platforms.
