Ester Baiget Biography
Ester Baiget is President and CEO of Novonesis, where she is an advocate for the power of biotechnology and the positive change biosolutions can have for the green transition. She is also a member and Vice-Chair of The B Team, an international collective of business and civil society leaders working to create new norms of corporate leadership -- one that measures success not only by financial performance, but also by the health of people and our planet.
Previously, Baiget was President and CEO of Novozymes, which merged with Chr. Hansen to form Novonesis. At Novozymes, she was the first woman to hold the CEO position in the company’s history. Previously, Baiget had a quarter-century run at Dow Chemical Company, ascending from an engineer to business president of Dow’s Industrial Solutions unit.
Baiget has held a number of active external leadership positions in the sustainability and climate space, including as a member of the Board of Trustees and Sustainability Champion for the United States Council for International Business and as a member of the World Economic Forum’s CEO Action Group for a European Green Deal and Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders.
She holds a chemical engineering degree and an MBA from the University of Tarragona in Spain.
