Best known for her role as Gabrielle Solis on the ABC megahit "Desperate Housewives," Eva Longoria is an award-winning actor, producer, director, entrepreneur and philanthropist. She has been recognized among People magazine's Most Beautiful People, Rolling Stone's People of the Year, and Maxim's Hot 100. She is also a committed activist, dedicating her time and talent to the Hispanic and charitable communities.
Longoria's extensive list of television acting credits include "Dora and the Lost City of Gold," "BoJack Horseman," "Jane The Virgin," "Empire," "Telenovela," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," and the fourth season of "Only Murders in the Building." In film, she has appeared in "Over Her Dead Body" with Paul Rudd, "Harsh Times" with Christian Bale, and "Overboard" with Anna Faris, among many others.
Longoria is the founder of production company UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, and has served as executive producer on the "The Harvest," a documentary focusing on agricultural child labor in America. She has directed episodes of "Jane the Virgin," "Black-ish," "The Mick" and "Devious Maids," and produced programs that speak to her desire to showcase Latin stories, like MAX’s "Gordita Chronicles," about a Dominican girl growing up in 1980s Miami. She marked her feature film directorial debut with "Flamin’ Hot," which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.
She founded the Eva Longoria Foundation to help Latinas build better futures for themselves and their families through education and entrepreneurship, as well as Eva's Heroes, a charitable organization dedicated to supporting the special needs community. In 2024, she was granted a $50 million Courage and Civility Award by Jeff Bezos. Longoria has spoken about the Foundation’s work before the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, International Labor Organization, at Google Headquarters, the Clinton Global Initiative, Women in the World Texas and the National Council de la Raza, among others. She is also the National Spokesperson for Padres Contra el Cancer, a nonprofit committed to improving the lives of children with cancer, and a Global Brand Ambassador for L’Oreal Paris.
A pillar in the Latino community, Longoria sits on the boards of the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund and La Plaza de Cultura y Artes. She was named “Philanthropist of the Year” by The Hollywood Reporter and honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at Variety’s annual Power of Women Luncheon. She served as National Co-Chair for President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign and as a Co-Chair of the 2013 Presidential Inauguration Committee.
Longoria received her master’s degree in Chicano Studies from California State University, Northridge.
