Fala Chen, the well-known multilingual actress, will next star as one of the leads in the upcoming Marvel feature "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings" for director Destin Daniel Cretton, opposite Awkwafina, Tony Leung, and Simu Liu. She recently made her US television debut in the HBO limited series "The Undoing" opposite Nicole Kidman for director Susanne Bier.
Born in China and raised in Atlanta, Chen started her career as a film and television actor in Asia before attending The Juilliard School where she received her MFA in Drama. Her mother tongue is Mandarin, but she is also fluent in English, Cantonese, and Japanese. Chen is internationally recognized for her Chinese-language work, including her lead roles in "Sound of the Desert," "Triumph in the Skies," "Moonlight Resonance," and "Turning Point."
Chen's personal family history has driven her to become a passionate advocate for raising awareness about women’s health. She featured as the seventh protagonist of the Giorgio Armani Crossroads series, a project that profiles inspiring women and offers insights into womanhood, choices, and freedom.
