Fede Álvarez

Fede Álvarez is a Uruguayan director, screenwriter, producer and filmmaker. He is best known for his work in the horror and thriller genres. He gained international recognition with his debut feature film Evil Dead (2013), a remake of the 1981 cult classic of the same name, produced by Sam Raimi. Álvarez's version of "Evil Dead" was well-received by both critics and audiences for its intense, graphic horror and inventive direction, solidifying his place as a rising star in the genre.

Following the success of "Evil Dead," Álvarez directed "Don't Breathe" (2016), a critically acclaimed thriller about a group of friends who break into a blind man's house, only to find themselves in a deadly situation. He also directed the sequel, "Don't Breathe 2" in 2021. Continuing the horror genre, Álvarez returned to the big screen with "Alien: Romulus" in 2024.

In addition to his directing work, Álvarez has been involved in various projects as a producer and screenwriter. He co-wrote and produced "Don't Breathe 2" (2021) and also directed "The Girl in the Spider's Web" (2018), a film based on the Millennium series character Lisbeth Salander.
