Feike Sijbesma

Feike Sijbesma is the Honorary Chair of Royal DSM and a Member of the Board of Trustees at the World Economic Forum, where he also serves as an Industry Business Council Member and Co-Chair of the Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders. He is Co-Chair of the Global Climate Adaptation Centers and is widely recognized for his leadership at the intersection of global business, sustainability, and climate action.

Sijbesma studied medical and molecular biology at Utrecht University and completed business administration studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He began his career at Gist-brocades in 1987, rising through roles including Marketing and Sales Director, Divisional Director, and Member of the Executive Committee.

He joined Royal DSM in 1998 as Director of Food Specialities and was appointed to the DSM Managing Board in 2000. Sijbesma served as Chief Executive Officer of Royal DSM from 2007 to 2020, guiding the company through a major strategic transformation toward health, nutrition and sustainable living.

In addition to his DSM leadership, Sijbesma is Chairman of Royal Philips and serves as a Climate Leader for the World Bank Group. He is also a Champion of the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition (CPLC), continuing his longstanding commitment to advancing global climate solutions.
