Florian Otto

Florian Otto, co-founder and CEO of Cedar, boasts a diverse and successful career spanning multiple continents and industries. Otto's journey began at the University of Freiburg, Germany, where he earned an M.D., D.D.S., and PhD, an education that would later inform his business ventures. Prior to his current role at Cedar, Otto cut his teeth in the corporate world as a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company within their healthcare practice, where he honed his skills in strategic thinking and business development.

Following his tenure at McKinsey, Otto transitioned into the entrepreneurial sector with the establishment of ClubeUrbano, a daily deal company in Brazil. His leadership and strategic acumen led to the company being acquired by Groupon. After the acquisition, Otto assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of Groupon Brazil, overseeing operations and driving growth in a new market.

Adding further to his portfolio, Otto served as an executive at Zocdoc, where he played a pivotal role in driving the commercial adoption of the platform. This experience, along with his previous roles, positioned him uniquely to co-found Cedar, where he currently serves as CEO.
