Floyd Hurt Biography
Floyd Hurt, author of Rousing Creativity: Think New NOW! and Live Like Your Mean It: The Exhilaration of Being in Control, is also an international speaker on creativity, marketing and enhancing personal experiences.
For over 30 years, Floyd has honed his creative skill in every phase of sales, marketing, and advertising. From pounding the streets of New York as a sales rep, to developing and marketing new products for ITT, to video development for Time, Inc, to founding his own advertising agency, Hurt has pursued his passion for practical, useful creative ideas and now shares his accumulated knowledge through books, articles, speeches and seminars.
Hurt is a graduate of the University of North Carolina with postgraduate studies at The New School in New York, the Sorbonne in Paris and the University of Virginia. He is currently the chairman of the board at Piedmont Virginia Community College in Charlottesville, VA.
His latest book, Live Like Your Mean It, is an amalgam of the knowledge he has gained in the real world. It’s simply about how to live a life worth living.
