In 1930, Pat Olivieri and his brother invented the cheesesteak. Nearly 90 years later, Pat’s great-nephew Frank Olivieri runs the iconic South Philly shop, selling a ton of sandwiches 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 363 days a year.
Olivieri is a trained chef who graduated from the restaurant school with a Bachelors of Culinary Science. When he’s not filling Philly’s belly with delicious cheesesteaks, you can find him teaching vegan classes at the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College. Olivieri has a huge heart and wants to give back to the community as much as he can.
