Gayle King

Gayle King is a renowned television journalist who co-anchors "CBS Mornings" alongside Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson. She has built a reputation for conducting insightful interviews with world leaders, political figures, and celebrities, bringing her extensive experience to CBS broadcasts and platforms. In addition to her role in broadcast journalism, King serves as editor-at-large for O, The Oprah Magazine, further solidifying her influence in media. Since joining CBS News in 2011, she has become known for her ability to secure high-profile and exclusive interviews that make national headlines.

King's interviewing skills were notably highlighted in her gripping sit-down with R. Kelly, where she remained composed despite his emotional outburst. In 2023, she expanded her role by co-hosting the CNN primetime show "King Charles" alongside Charles Barkley.

Her career continues to evolve with new ventures, including an upcoming spaceflight. King is set to join Blue Origin's New Shepard program in spring 2025 as part of an all-women crew. Born in Maryland, she spent part of her childhood in Ankara, Turkey, and later graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in psychology. She is the mother of two children, Kirby and Will, and currently resides in New York City.
