George Jenkins MD

Dr. George Jenkins is a Dentist, Author, and Assistant Professor of Clinical Dentistry at Columbia University, where he instructs 3rd and 4th-year dental students in the triage/radiology clinic. He is also a founding member of "The Three Doctors," a group he established with his two best friends.

Raised in Newark, New Jersey, Dr. Jenkins was inspired to pursue a career in dentistry after a visit to the dentist at age 13. This ambition steered him away from the potential pitfalls of his crime-ridden neighborhood, providing a positive focus that also encouraged his friends towards medical careers. Together, they attended Seton Hall University's Pre-Medicine/Pre-Dental Plus program, designed to support minority students in medical fields. Despite enduring ongoing social and financial challenges, their collective resolve never wavered.

Dr. Jenkins completed his undergraduate studies at Seton Hall University in 1995 and earned his DMD from the New Jersey Dental School in 1999. He finished a General Practice Residency in 2000 and an Oral Medicine Fellowship in 2002, both at New Jersey Dental School. He later acquired an Executive Masters of Health Administration from Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health in 2016. Alongside his academic and professional achievements, Dr. Jenkins co-founded The Three Doctors Foundation, a non-profit organization initiated in 2000 to foster educational and community initiatives.

Known for their resilience and dedication to education, "The Three Doctors" have co-authored three books, two of which, "The Pact" (2002) and "We Beat the Street" (2006), became New York Times Bestsellers. Their third publication, "The Bond" (2008), further showcases their journey and impact. Dr. Jenkins’ commitment to education and community service has been recognized on numerous occasions, including receiving a congressional record from the United States Congress.
