Gino Torretta

Gino Torretta, a name synonymous with Miami Hurricanes football success, has made significant strides both on and off the field. A standout quarterback during his collegiate career, Torretta led the Hurricanes to crucial victories, including a memorable game against Florida State where his strategic play in the fourth quarter was pivotal. He excelled in setting several school records for the University of Miami, achieving career highs in attempts, completions, and yards. His athletic prowess earned him the Heisman Trophy in 1992, in addition to other prestigious awards such as the Walter Camp Football Foundation's Player of the Year and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

Off the field, Torretta has continued to leverage his expertise and passion for football. He graduated from the University of Miami in 1991 with a degree in Business Management and subsequently transitioned into a diverse career. He founded Touchdown Radio, broadcasting a college football game of the week and served as a color commentator for both collegiate and professional football games. He also hosts the South Eastern College Football Today Show on CSS. Torretta's commitment to football and his alma mater is evident through his roles as a Past-President of the National University of Miami Alumni Association and a member of the Orange Bowl Committee.

Currently, Torretta resides in Miami with his wife, Bernadette, and has moved from his role at Prudential Services to a significant position as the Manager of Institutional Sales at Gabelli Asset Management. His dedication to community and philanthropy is highlighted by his active involvement in hosting the Gino Torretta Celebrity Blue Tee Weekend, an event that supports The Torretta Foundation in its research efforts for ALS and Myasthenia Gravis. Torretta's contributions to sports and his community have been recognized through his inductions into the College Football Hall of Fame, the University of Miami's Ring of Honor, and the Orange Bowl Hall of Honor.
