Glen Keane

Glen Keane is a 38-year veteran of Walt Disney Feature Animation, trained by Walt Disney’s Nine Old Men, including legendary animators Ollie Johnson, Frank Thomas, and Eric Larson. He was a character animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios for feature films including "The Little Mermaid", "Beauty and the Beast", "Aladdin", "Pocahontas", "Tarzan", and served as Supervising Animator and Executive Producer on "Tangled". He began his animation career with work on "The Rescuers" and was the directing animator on "The Fox and the Hound". His illustrious career has earned him multiple awards including the 1991 National Cartoonist Society Animation Award, the 2008 Windsor McCay Award for Lifetime Achievement in Animation, the 2012 Tex Avery Award, along with a Disney Legend Award in 2013.

In 2012, Keane departed Disney to found Glen Keane Productions, pursuing further artistic exploration in animation. He has since collaborated with various partners, including creating "Duet", a hand-drawn interactive film for Google’s Spotlight Stories in 2013, and working with the Paris Ballet. His notable projects include directing the animated feature film "Over the Moon" in partnership with Pearl Studio and Netflix, released in Fall 2020.

Keane continues to push the boundaries of animation with his personal projects. He is also an author and illustrator, known for works such as "Adventures Of Adam Raccoon: Bully Garumph". His collaboration "Dear Basketball", with John Williams and the late Kobe Bryant, received the 2018 Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. Keane remains a pivotal figure in the world of animation, consistently contributing to the field through his innovative creations and storytelling prowess.
