Glyn Jones

Glyn Jones’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and a Masters degree in Occupational Health and Safety. He is a Professional Engineer, a Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) and a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).

Jones has over thirty years of experience working as a consulting Occupational Health and Safety specialist. He has completed work in heavy industry, manufacturing, the commercial buildings industry, institutional settings and for all levels of government in Canada and overseas. Jones has developed particular expertise in program development and auditing; regulatory interpretation and compliance; hazardous materials assessment, handling and abatement design; workplace exposure assessment and risk analysis; incident investigation and causal analysis; and ventilation for contaminant control. His specific expertise includes the areas of safety management system development, air sampling and analysis, indoor air quality, mould investigation and remediation, regulatory interpretation and compliance, exposure and risk analysis and management, as well as hazardous material handling and abatement technologies.

He has extensive experience having taught occupational health and safety at the post-secondary level at Mount Royal University, the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary, the University of New Brunswick and Lakeland College. Jones continues to work on a variety of Professional Associations and committees. He was involved with the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) as Program Director (1996), President (1997) and Past President (1998). He held the position of Treasurer (2005-2009) and Chair (2009-2013) of the Calgary Chapter of CSSE. He held positions on CSSE's National Board as the Regional Vice-President (AB, NT/NU) (2014-2017) and as Secretary (2018-2020).
