Graeme Maxton Biography
Graeme Maxton is a global and Asian economist, writer and presenter who challenges people to think about the world, our economic system and the future of humanity.
Well-known for his insights, stimulating presentations (and brilliant event-chairing style), Graeme delivers punchy, clearly-articulated analysis on global affairs. A natural and skilled moderator, renowned for his live and recorded 'in-conversation' interview style with CEOs, politicians and business leaders, he is the author of several highly acclaimed books.
He used to write for The Economist but chooses not to these days.
Until May 2007, he was Regional Director to the Economist Intelligence Unit in Asia. He also chaired meetings, CEO lunches and led Economist Conferences Roundtables around the world on a wide range of subjects including energy, banking compliance, manufacturing in China and the automotive industry.
He was previously a Director of autoPOLIS, a world respected authority on the automotive industry, until 2007.
Graeme is also a frequent guest host on CNBC's Squawk Box and a regular guest on BBC and CNN news programmes.
He is based in Vienna, splitting his time primarily between Asia and Europe.
