HH AlSayyida Dr. Basma Al Said

HH AlSayyida Dr. Basma Al Said has made significant contributions to mental health awareness and treatment in the Middle East. She founded the first mental health clinic in Oman, Whispers of Serenity, and has been a mental health clinical counselor for over 21 years. Her expertise extends to hypnotherapy and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PET) for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). She holds a master's degree in Health Counseling from Curtin University of Technology in Australia.

Her Highness has initiated several campaigns to raise awareness about mental health issues. In 2014, she launched the "Not Alone" campaign, which aimed to create societal awareness of mental well-being. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she opened a messaging support line for teenagers, the elderly, and frontline health workers. She also provided free counseling during the second wave of COVID-19 in India, the Beirut incident, and for Palestinians. These initiatives have solidified her position as a pioneer in mental health awareness in the Middle East.

In addition to her work in mental health, Her Highness has been recognized for her contributions to her community and field. She currently serves as the Honorary President of Oman Heritage and has been welcomed as one of the new members of the Medical and Health Programming board of the World Humanitarian Forum. She has been honored as one of the 50 Omani women who have played a significant role in the country's development and for their achievements in their field of work. Her Highness has also been awarded as International Social Responsibility Ambassador by The International Union for Social Responsibility (IUSR) for 2020 and 2021.
